The add-on nickel-and-diming problem
Pipedrive's base plans look affordable. But the features most sales teams need are sold separately:
- LeadBooster (chatbot, live chat, web forms) — $32.50/mo
- Smart Docs (trackable proposals, e-signatures) — $32.50/mo
- Campaigns (email marketing) — $13.33/mo
- Web Visitors (website tracking) — $41/mo
That's $119.33/month in add-ons before you count a single seat. A 5-person team on Premium ($59/seat) with common add-ons pays roughly $393/month — not the $70/month the pricing page suggests.
Tonic Desk Professional at $39/user includes email campaigns, web tracking, document tracking, and lead capture. Zero add-ons to buy.
The tier-renaming confusion
In late 2025, Pipedrive renamed its plans (Essential → Foundation, Advanced → Pulse, etc.) and reshuffled features between tiers. Features that were in Advanced may now require a higher plan. If you signed up before the change, your renewal price may not match the current published rate.
Tonic Desk has three plans. The feature list for each is public and hasn't changed since launch.
The reporting ceiling
Pipedrive's built-in reports cover pipeline basics. But custom reports with cross-object data, revenue forecasting, or team performance breakdowns require the Enterprise plan at $79/user/mo — or an external BI tool.
Tonic Desk Professional includes custom reporting with cross-object filters, scheduled report emails, and team dashboards at $39/user.
